International One UP

International One UP® is a single pack primer/undercoat for use above the waterline with International one-pack finishes and deck paints. Simple yet effective, making painting easier for DIY customers without compromising on aesthetic appearance or substrate protection.

• Replaces Yacht Primer and Pre-Kote whilst still delivering the same levels of adhesion and protection

APPLICATION AND USE

Preparation

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES:

In Good Condition

Wash down with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Sand with 220280 grade (grit) paper. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely. In Poor Condition

Remove all previous coatings.

BARE WOOD

Sand smooth with 80180 grade paper and then 280 grade paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. If wiping with solvent, then allow to dry completely before applying primer.

STEEL

Degrease with solvent, Super Cleaner or a suitable liquid detergent. Gritblast to Sa 2½  near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 2436 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright well roughened metal surface 5075microns anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely.

ALUMINIUM

Degrease with solvent, Super Cleaner or a suitable liquid detergent. Sand well using 24120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Coarser grades are recommended to achieve optimum adhesion. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely.

ZINC/GALVANISED STEEL

Degrease with solvent, Super Cleaner or a suitable liquid detergent. Sand well using 60120 grade paper. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely. GRP/EPOXY: Degrease with solvent, Super Cleaner or a suitable liquid detergent. Sand well using 180220 grade paper.
