English Braids 8-Plait Polypropylene Rope

English Braids manufactures 8-Plait Multifilament Rope in Malvern, Worcestershire, using European stabilised polypropylene yarns in a flexible 8-strand construction.

The rope has a specific gravity of 0.91, allowing it to float on water. This makes it easy to see and recover in marine environments. The stabilised polypropylene fibres provide improved UV resistance, helping to extend the rope’s service life in outdoor and marine applications.

The soft, flexible construction offers excellent handling and makes the rope easy to knot, splice, and use. It suits a wide range of light-duty tasks, including dinghy control lines, fender lines, floating safety lines, and general-purpose marine lashing.

The rope delivers 19% extension at 50% of its breaking load and 25% extension at break. This provides useful shock absorption for everyday applications. It also withstands temperatures up to approximately 150°C.

8-Plait Multifilament Rope is available in yellow with a red fleck and three diameters from 6mm to 10mm.
