Drennan AS2 Carp Pole Rig

The Drennan AS2 Carp Pole Rig is a versatile, professionally hand-tied pole rig designed for F1 and carp fishing on commercial fisheries. Developed around Drennan’s latest AS Carp float range, the AS2 is an excellent all-round choice for anglers who want a ready-made rig capable of handling a wide variety of baits and fishing situations. Its balanced combination of sensitivity, stability and strength makes it particularly well suited to everyday commercial pole fishing.

Each rig is supplied on 3 metres of line and features a robust 6lb (0.18mm) mainline, 5lb (0.16mm) hooklength and size 14 barbless Wide Gape Pellet hook. The AS2 Carp float incorporates a 1.5mm interchangeable Hi-Viz tip, allowing the tip colour to be changed to provide better visibility in different light and water conditions. Available in 0.4g, 0.5g and 0.6g, the AS2 is suitable for presenting a variety of popular hookbaits including maggots, casters, sweetcorn and soft pellets.

Available Drennan AS2 Carp Pole Rig Sizes

Which Drennan AS2 Carp Pole Rig Do I Need?

0.4g – The lightest AS2 option, ideal when a sensitive presentation is required or when fishing shallower or calmer swims.

0.5g – A versatile middle-weight option and an excellent choice for general commercial pole fishing.

0.6g – Provides additional weight and stability, making it useful when fishing deeper swims or when conditions require a more positive presentation.

All three sizes use the same strong and balanced line, hooklength and hook combination, allowing you to choose the most suitable float weight for the conditions without changing the fundamental rig setup.
