Description

Drennan AS1 Carp Pole Rig

The Drennan AS1 Carp Pole Rig is a professionally hand-tied, ready-to-fish pole rig designed for targeting F1s and smaller carp on commercial fisheries. Developed in conjunction with five-time World Champion Alan Scotthorne, the AS1 uses a slim, sensitive pencil-shaped float that creates minimal resistance when a fish takes the bait. This makes it particularly effective when bites are shy or conditions demand a more delicate presentation.

Each AS1 Carp Pole Rig is supplied on 3 metres of line and features a carefully balanced combination of 6lb (0.18mm) mainline, 5lb (0.16mm) hooklength and a size 16 barbless Wide Gape Pellet hook. The float incorporates a 1.5mm interchangeable Hi-Viz tip, allowing the tip colour to be changed to improve visibility as light and water conditions vary. Available in 0.2g, 0.4g and 0.6g, these ready-tied rigs provide a convenient and reliable option for match, pleasure and commercial pole anglers who want a high-quality rig ready to use straight from the packet.

Available Drennan AS1 Carp Pole Rig Sizes

Which Drennan AS1 Carp Pole Rig Do I Need?

0.2g – The lightest option, ideal when maximum sensitivity and delicate bait presentation are important, particularly for shy-biting F1s and smaller carp.

0.4g – A versatile middle-weight option and an excellent all-round choice for everyday commercial pole fishing.

0.6g – The heaviest AS1 ready-tied option, useful when additional stability or a slightly faster bait descent is required.

All three versions retain the same 3m rig length, 6lb mainline, 5lb hooklength and size 16 barbless Wide Gape Pellet hook, so you can select the float weight according to the swim and conditions without changing the fundamental strength of the rig.
